mobilityView Invited to join Team Canada Trade Mission to Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Guatemala

Toronto, 31 October 2018 - The Canadian Trade Commission Service (TCS) has selected mobilityView for an Information & Communication Technology mission to the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Guatemala. Earlier this year mobilityView was selected as an Elite Start-Up (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6370363166773379072) that the Government of Canada would be supporting globally via the Canadian Technology Accelerator Program. “With a notable win in the Dominican Republic, with Altice (ATC, ATCB) in May 2018, this mission will provide a focal point and catalyst for further success building on the outstanding work being carried out by mobilityView’s team in this region,” remarks Thom Damstra, CEO of mobilityView.

The Canadian Trade Commissioner’s Service recognized the global need for mobile data solutions and has been greatly encourage with momentum generated in this region by mobilityView. With US Patents and Patents Pending in 84 countries, mobilityView has the world’s first Over-The-Top (OTT) mobile data solution that solves for every byte of data usage, as well as SMS and voice. “We put at customers’ fingertips more information about their usage than even their Telecom Operators can provide them. We are also the first solution that can determine business from personal across all usage types and regardless of whether it is Wi-Fi or on an Operator’s wireless network. In fact, we work on every Telecom Operator’s network in the world – we are completely Operator agnostic,” says Damstra.

"The business community in Costa Rica is looking to eliminate wastage in their businesses given the current economic climate locally. Governments are on a cost cutting initiative as part of the recent elections where the new President was given a deficit busting mandate. As the former top Executive in the Telecom business in Costa Rica, I am intimately familiar with wireless data usage and trends. The vast majority (75%+) of usage here in Costa Rica of a business provided or employee supplied smartphone &/or plan is personal. Should employers be paying for video game play, watching sports, consuming hours of YouTube and Netflix? I am very pleased to be working with the mobilityView team to open up Costa Rica and Central America," says Ricardo Taylor, Strategic Advisor to mobilityView in Costa Rica.

mobilityView is developing a range of mobile big data products, with the first to market being MCM (Mobile Cost Management) Platform. The MCM Platform is a business solution with some big wins for customers:

  • Reduce mobile costs by as much as 70%
  • Provide greater usage detail and analysis than ever before – ever second, every SMS, and every byte of data
  • No more bill shocks – real time data and analytics with next generation alerting
  • Reduce the costs of managing mobile device fleets, both capital and manpower
  • Future proof a company against tax compliancy

“In the Dominican Republic mobile Internet consumption is already bigger than desktop Internet consumption and this applies for all categories: financial services, retail, telecommunications, tourism and entertainment. This changing habit is unstoppable and also done with the company phone,” Armand Toonen, Strategic Advisor to mobilityView and former CCO Enterprise in Orange. “This indicates that mobilityView has shown that we can help companies to manage this tendency: control the mobile cost expenditure for the company and giving the employees the full flexibility to use their mobile device wherever and whenever they want. Our partnership with the Altice Dominicana underlines the uniqueness of our solution. During the trade mission we want to transfer our best-practices knowledge to our Latin American countries.”

The MCM Platform by mobilityView is an enterprise-grade cloud service providing real-time Smart Business Intelligence (SBI) for businesses of any size. It provides a complete view of all mobile costs, previously not thought possible, across the entire business. No longer in the dark, guessing at what is happening, a business can now move forward in a proactive and positive way, making informed decisions. Employers can sleep at night knowing that their costs are contained; and employees can experience mobile democracy – they are freed up to do whatever they want on their mobile device: Play video games, watch movies; engage in social media and take advantage of the fantastic network that telecom operators provide.

“The MCM Platform provides clear, unequivocal and immediate return on investment for businesses of any size”, said Thom Damstra, CEO of mobilityView. “The flexibility of the platform opens up the tantalizing possibilities to simultaneously reduce cost; provide new flexi benefits; and increase the usage of mobility within an organization. Until now, these three simultaneous benefits have been impossible to deliver. mobilityView makes the impossible possible.”
