Samsung’s Galaxy Note9 drops with big price tag but lots of carrier deals

Samsung sprung its new Galaxy Note9 today with a big 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display and a massive $1,000 price tag to match.

The device will be available for preorder starting Aug. 10, will ship on Aug. 24 and comes in new colors Ocean Blue and Lavender Purple. The smartphone also comes with the S Pen stylus, a 4000 mAh battery, 128 GB of storage (or 512 GB in the $1,2450 model), Bluetooth Low Energy support and a dual aperture lens camera.

“The Note has always been our showcase for premium technology and industry-defining innovation, and Galaxy Note9 is no exception. It’s designed for a level of performance, power and intelligence that today’s power users want and need,” said DJ Koh, president and CEO of Samsung’s IT and Mobile Communications Division, in a statement. “Note fans are Samsung’s most loyal; we know they want it all, to get the most out of work and play, and Galaxy Note9 is the only phone that can keep up with their busy lives.”
