Global IT spending is expected to shrink by 2.7 percent in 2020, predicted IDC this week, as economic activity grinds to a halt under the weight of coronavirus.
To put that into context, spending in 2019 grew by 4.8 percent on 2018. In terms of the broader worldwide economy, IDC expects real GDP to fall by 1.7 percent this year.

Facebook just announced employees will be allowed to work permanently from home.
Twitter has done the same.
Google, Salesforce, Microsoft are on the same path with extensions to end of the year and beyond.
Bank of Montreal in Canada (one of Canada’s largest private sector employers) has said 80% of all employees will be partially or fully working from home each week.
COVID 19 has demonstrated that companies are no longer accepting the Status Quo when they think about the #modernworkplace or the how, the where, and the when of work.
It means the way in which traditional IT assets have been deployed and paid for is being completely rethought & the who pays for what.
What does this mean : Bring Your Own Everything (BYOE)
